DESCRIPTION:What began as a small protest march through the Davie Vill
 age has blossomed into a world-class Pride Parade attracting not only 
 supporters within the LGBT community in Vancouver but our friends worl
 dwide. The bigger we get, the more fun we have and the more we can sho
 wcase Canada’s proud diversity. Particularly dear to the hearts of t
 he VPS is the fact that our Pride Parade can provide inspiration and c
 ourage to the LGBT community worldwide. Our Pride started as a brave p
 eaceful protest (“We’re here! We’re queer!”) and has grown int
 o a role model for LGBT communities who continue to fight hard for the
 ir human rights.\n\nSpanning 20 blocks and attracting an audience of o
 ver 500,000 in 2008, the Pride Parade is Vancouver's premier celebrati
 on of culture and diversity. Come to the Parade on August 2nd, 2009 to
