"Happy Feet" movie promotes being gay?...

Now I know, the title may sound like I don't like it, but, that's not it...

Schools are trying to ban classrooms in schools to be able to show the movie "Happy Feet" because it promotes being gay... Now, I've seen this movie, there is nothing in there that makes you think the main character is gay, he's a penguin that's going after the FEMALE that all the other guys are going after... but their argument is that "the movie shows it's okay to be different, so its advocating being gay, which we can't have in our schools, because it's against the bible..."

ummm... correct me if I'm wrong, but 1st off, the bible and schools are supposed to be separated, BY LAW, and now they're trying to bring it into schools, just to keep us out?... this don't seem right to me... now, am I just crazy? or is this stupid?...

Jeremy, are you serious? Your school won't allow a showing of Happy Feet because it promotes being different - and since gay is different, they're assuming Happy Feet promotes homosexuality?

If we run with that logic, one could assume that ANYTHING or ANYONE who is different from the majority should be banned as well. If your school is 90% white, does that mean the non-whites should be banned? If your school is full of kids from dual-parent households, does that mean kids from singe-parent households are banned?

It's not just my school, my sister lives close to the bible belt, and that's where it's the worst... She's the one who told me about this, but yes, I'm serious, this made the news down where she lives.

And trust me, I know what you mean, that logic, well, isn't even logic in my opinion, doesn't make any sense...

Let them sing their songs if they want to! That's where I am!!! No single human being should be told to do this-or-that simply because they are gay or not! Different schools have different "by-laws". It just depends on what the true issue is! (= some schools will lash out on the "different" just because they can!

OMG! that is absolutely ridiculous! I have never looked at that movie as promoting anything gay. But if others think so, I would think that it would be a good way to teach children that being different IS ok...isn't that what we want out children to do...to not judge and accpet everyone for who they are???? OMG, that makes me sooo upset. I just don't understand how people can be so closed minded...ugh..

Ya I know, it makes me mad too, that's something I've always been taught as a child "Being different is good, don't judge anyone by one or two things, wait till you get to know them better IF you're going to judge them at all" but, people don't seem to care anymore... :(
