Lesbian movies and tv shows?

Hey I've been looking for any good movies or tv shows about lesbians. There is a decent amount I can find about gay men, but not so much about women. any suggestions?

A great LGBT documentray in general: The Celluloid Closet -- it looks at the portrayal of lesbians and gays in movies since the beginning of cinema. It's very interesting and I found about a billion other movies I wanted to see from watching it. You can watch it instantly on Netflix if you have an account.

Some of my favorite lesbian movies (so far) are: Imagine Me and You, But I'm a Cheerleader and Fried Green Tomatoes. My favorite lesbian author writing about lesbians (again, so far): Nicola Griffith. I've read her newest series first and my favorite of those is Always. I became deeply involved in the story and really enjoyed it. Now I'm reading some of her earlier books.

You're are reason: the best TV series with lesbian characters are in Spain. There are also a host of other lesbian characters in various shows that we haven't posted because they don't have English subtitles. Would love to see some substantial lesbian characters and story lines emerge this year in the states...especially with the end of The L Word.

Genia posted a few links in a discussion. I have watched every episode of a few of them. They are pretty good. Not the L word but good. Keep an eye on Genia's blogs because posts pretty good updates on shows etc.

I can't think straight is one of the best lesbian movies. And Loving Annabelle. I would highly recommend them both

I can't recall if anyone mentioned Better than Chocolate, but it's worth mentioning again. I love the not-so-subtle joke about 10% Books in that movie - the "discount" bookstore... ha!
