Anywhere in a state that has legalized gay marriage, as simple as that. In wherever state/town you decide to have the wedding, you must go to the City Hall and apply for a marriage license with your intended...some states have waiting lists, some states grant it same day, depending on what time you get there. Connecticut, for instance, will grant the license very quickly...Mass has a three day waiting period unless you go before a judge and request a waiver. Then, you typically have sixty days to get the ceremony performed in the town that you have the license for (very important). You have either a JP or a Reverend perform the ceremony, sign the marriage license, and they will turn it back into the City Hall for recording. A JP can perform within a certain area only (and I think this is statewide only, as it is a civil position) while a Reverend can travel to different states and officiate at weddings.....for instance, I am from Mass and have done many ceremonies here in Mass....and I have also been asked for friends in CT to officiate at their weddings.
