What's the Best Part about Being LGB and/or T?

We focus a lot on the trials and tribulations we LGBT people face, so I thought I'd change the tone a little. What are some of the positives you associate with being a member of the LGBT community?

For me, one of the positive things about being a member of the LGBTQ community is it gives me a sense of belonging, like I finally found a place where I fit in. I see the LGBTQ community as my extended [dysfunctional] family.

I completely agree. We call our little "family" here locally the "Misfits." Many of us lose our biological families, so we formulate bonds within our community that are very much family.

Finally having a sense o f belonging - knowing that there are more like me who think along the same lines as I do in regards to sexuality.
And all the rainbow parties and parades.

I have to agree with Lance in a way. Although I come from a very diverse family (from polish, mormon, Iranian to Black and anywhere in between) It helps to remind me that I don't want to be judged; therefore don't judge.

Also the comfort of knowing that there are people that totally get where I am coming from as far as issues dealt with on a daily basis and that can whole heartedly empathize with my struggles.

It makes me feel giddy to finally have people that "Get It"

And I just love the nickname my loving and completely supportive Mother and Sister have bestowed upon me.
