I can remember when my local BBS started offering email basically as a user group - you wrote messages and they were sent and received once a day. And we were all thrilled!

Hello everyone. :) I remember being the #1 user on TASR BBS in the mid-1980's, cortesy of the 300 baud modem attached to my Dad's TI 99/4a and the Terminal Emulator II cartridge. :)

It's running under the Citadel, a FOSS project that's evolved into a total e-mail and groupware solution. http://citadel.org/ (there's also a web interface to the BBS, if you don't want to go it old-school ... http://uncensored.citadel.org/ )

Peter, Whats it running? I ran a multiline CNet (Amiga) board for years and a 4 line Wildcat bbs.

If any of you are old enough to have been using computers to know what a BBS is and would like some nostalgic fun, SSH over to bbs@uncensored.citadel.org (I think you can still telnet in if you don't have an SSH client but you really should be using SSH -- if you don't have a client, check out putty SSH).

Whoa. The loop is inside the VM? Is this on Workstation, VMware Server, Fusion or ESX?

I'd almost say start from scratch..
