Hey bloggers!

Is anyone a member of the Blogher network? I have an entry in a contest that I need votes for. It's a silly recipe contest, but the price is big, so of course I want to win. Better odds than Biloxi, especially with you on my side...

If you are game, you can vote 5 times, once each day this week, after you are registered and logged in at

The contest poll page is

I'm recipe number one. 1. Uno.

Then tell me what I can do to help you win the ridiculous contest of your dreams!

Thank you.

Hi all! My blog is in Spanish: I blog about sex, politics, lesbian visibility, women issues around the world, gay friendly companies, anti-homophobe boycotts, and pretty much anything else LGBT/feminist-related.

]I originally wrote my blog, Raw Odyssey, to address my desire to follow a diet of raw, whole foods for health reasons. I was appalled at how expensive it can be to eat a diet made up of fresh, whole foods. As a sociologist I am also dismayed that we continue to build communities that rely on cars and which have no infrastructures that make environmentally friendly behavior second nature to residents.

Last year I decided to look at ways that I could eat more healthfully and affordably. Since that first musing, Raw Odyssey has expanded from a raw food blog into a farm blog that chronicles my endeavors to create my own organic subsistence farm. Please check out the blog at

If any of you have accounts on Blogher and/or are thinking about going to the 09 conference: they are currently collecting votes for the twelve conference sessions they call "Room of Your Own Sessions." Kathryn Martini of Recovering Straight Girl and I have proposed a session for LGBTQ Bloggers, and we'd love your support at Blogher and you to join us if you are going!

The interface is a little clunky. After you are logged in as a member of the site (which is free, if you are not already in the system), then when you read the individual ideas you will see a way to click on the top of each idea if you are interested in attending. It's not a commitment, but a way of showing support that the idea should be on the conference agenda.

(I'm also on the slate with a session on Humor with Jenny, The Bloggess, so vote for that too if it also interests you!)

The link to the proposals are at:

Thanks for helping create this avenue for queer blogging visibility and connection.

If you are considering attending BlogHer 09 and are interested in volunteering in exchange for a free registration, they have published their call for applications:

I'm attending and just spreading the word hoping to have as many of our voices at the table as possible!
